Lovely and tranquil area, surrounded by beautiful countryside, working Mill, ideal getaway from the hustle and bustle of life, has laundry and cleaning facilities, recommended.
Best campsite we have ever visited won't be ling until we return again. Can't fault the staff and the price was what swayed our decision against other sites nearby despite reading other out dated reviews elsewhere so pleased we decided to take a chance and form our own opinions. Nice quiet site no Wi-Fi or shop but shops near by
We've really enjoyed our stay here. We camped up on the tents only field as opposed the the fields slightly nearer the toilets and showers. It's been wonderful. Despite being half term there's only been a maximum of 3 tent units in the field and some of the week, we were the only unit! The site is perfect for children who love to explore. Ours have loved playing in the stream, watching the waterfall and chatting with the donkeys. They've also had a great time attempting to row on the little boating pond. This site suits us perfectly. The most wonderful mix of wildness and comfort. E.g. we have electric but the site is very 'free' I.e. there's not loads of signs around with rules on (other than no flying kites by the telephone lines!). It is a little walk to the toilets and showers but even with 3 little ones who always need a wee last minute, it hasn't been a problem. The showers are push button which is a bit of a pain if you have thick hair like I do but with a bit of forward planning they work ok. They have always been hot for us but not too hot for the children. The little shop on site is great for little bits and information. The owners have lots of local knowledge and are always so friendly and helpful. It's safe to say that we will be back. The children are already planning their next adventure here and we still have another week to enjoy.
