We have been very pleased with the excellent service provided by Tamlyns. The agent who managed our purchase, Dan Evans, was helpful, knowledgeable and efficient from start to finish. When viewing other properties through a variety of estate agents, we were constantly disappointed by their lack of interest, knowledge and professionalism. The complete opposite was true from the first time we contacted Dan, and his manner at the first, and subsequent two viewings of the property we have just bought. Dan responded to emails and phone calls in a very timely manner. We could not recommend them highly enough.

Despite being based 70 miles from our holiday home Tamlyns were, for some reason, appointed to do the valuation for our buyers. With no local knowledge they down-valued the property from 165k to 140k. Not surprisingly, the sale fell through shortly after. Thankfully for us the house resold quickly and this subsequent sale completed at a price of 162.5k.To put this into some context, our agent valued the property at 165k (rather than us asking them to market it above and beyond what they suggested) and another local agent also valued it at a similar amount. We accepted an offer of 165k from our first buyer within a week of it being placed on the market; this sale collapsed shortly after Tamlyns down-valuation. The property went back on the market and, just over two weeks later, we accepted an offer of 162.5k from our second buyer. Both very quick sales as you can see, which reinforces our view that the property was hugely undervalued by Tamlyns.To add insult to injury, the valuer concerned failed to follow simple instructions and turned off the socket switch that our WiFi router was plugged into (despite a sticker in it that says DO NOT SWITCH OFF! in capitals. Our security cameras were reliant on the broadband connection and, as a result, we were left without camera coverage for over 24 hours. Our agent challenged the down-valuation and provided comparables to back it up but, unfortunately, Tamlyns did not respond. We also sent an email to Tamylyns to challenge the valuation and to ask why the valuer turned off our router, but their response was a complete fob-off. They even went as far to say that our sockets must be faulty!We gave Tamlyns the opportunity to address our issues before submitting this review but they did not reply. This sums them up really - they take absolutely no accountability for their actions.
Me and my husband would like to thank Mark and Dan for all their help in achieving the smooth purchase of our bungalow. Tamlyns is a very professional business. Mark and Dan went out of their way to help us.
